Finding the Perfect Combination of Cosmetic Injectables

Are you seeking to rejuvenate your features with a nonsurgical facelift? A combination of different injectables can precisely target the different lines, wrinkles, and folds in your facial skin to give your appearance an immediate improvement.

At the holistic medical practice of Bonnie S. Friehling, MD, in Columbia, Missouri, we offer a variety of safe and effective cosmetic injectables that can take years off your appearance.

Injectable neurotoxins

Neurotoxin injectables work on dynamic wrinkles. As time goes by, certain facial muscles can begin to stay in a semi-contracted state due to years of making facial expressions. When these muscles stay in a semi-contracted state, they can push up the skin above, thus forming dynamic wrinkles.

Examples of dynamic wrinkles are the horizontal lines on your forehead, the vertical lines between your eyebrows, and the crows feet at the corners of your eyes. Injecting a neurotoxin into the semi-contracted muscles will cause them to relax, thus smoothing the skin above them. Neurotoxin injectables are effective for around four months, and you can repeat the injections when needed.

We offer two types of injectable neurotoxin treatments:

Both of these contain botulinum toxin A, which is a safe, purified form of a toxin produced by Clostridium botulinum, and it’s approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat facial lines and wrinkles.

Injectable dermal fillers

Dermal fillers are made to treat static wrinkles. Static wrinkles form as stores of hyaluronic acid and other substances in your body wane. As these substances decrease, your skin can lose elasticity and other qualities.

Dermal fillers use a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid to boost your skin and decrease wrinkles.    Hyaluronic acid can add volume to nasolabial folds ― the lines between your nose and mouth ― as well as to your cheeks and areas around your mouth and lips.

We offer two types of injectable dermal fillers:

Dermal fillers last for about 6 months, and you can repeat injections as needed.

Injectable collagen boosters

Radiesse® is made of small calcium-based microspheres that are injected under your skin. They stimulate the production of new collagen, which, like hyaluronic acid, decreases with age.  Radiesse can add volume to your midfacial area. In one study, 80% of patients treated with Radiesse reported continued satisfaction at twelve months after treatment, without repeated injections.

No matter which lines you want to target, we have you covered. By using neurotoxins for wrinkles in your forehead or around your eyes, Radiesse for midfacial lines, and dermal fillers for lines around your nose and lips, you can make your skin look years younger.
